Questions

Is it free to scan to PDF?

Yes. It’s free and needs no account. It runs in your web browser, with nothing to install.

Are my photos uploaded?

No, not without an account. Your photos are taken and made into a PDF in this browser tab, and never sent to our server. Text recognition runs in this tab too. The first time you use it, it downloads its program and language files from our server, and your browser keeps them. Your pages stay here.

Is there a file size limit?

Not as a guest. Your file never reaches our server, so the only limit is what your device can handle. With a free account, each PDF kept in your library can be up to 100 MB.

Can I scan to PDF on my phone?

Yes. It works in the web browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer. On a phone it opens the back camera. Without a camera, choose photos instead.

Can I search the scanned PDF?

Yes. Recognise text is on by default: each page is read and its words are written under it, so the new PDF can be searched and copied.
