Questions
Is it free to create a fillable form?
Yes. It’s free and needs no account. It runs in your web browser, with nothing to install.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No, not without an account. Your PDF is opened and worked on in this browser tab, and never sent to our server.
Is there a file size limit?
Not as a guest. Your file never reaches our server, so the only limit is what your device can handle. With a free account, each PDF kept in your library can be up to 100 MB.
Can I create a fillable form on my phone?
Yes. It works in the web browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer.

When you’d make a form fillable
- A paper form you scanned, so people can type their answers instead of printing it.
- A form saved as a PDF from a word processor, whose lines and boxes are only drawn.
- An order form, a sign-up sheet or a checklist you send out.
Let it find the fields
Detect fields reads every page on your device and proposes a field for each blank line, empty box and small square it finds, named after its label. A scanned page is read with text recognition first. Fix any box, then add the fields you want. Some may be missed, so look over each page.
The fields you can add
- Text fields, with a default value, a character limit, several lines, or a format such as a number, a currency, a date or a phone number.
- Checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns and lists.
- A total that adds up other fields as they’re filled in.
- Buttons that reset the form or print it.
Any field can be required, and can have a tooltip that a screen reader reads out. On a phone, drag a box with your finger or tap to place a field, and its settings open in a sheet.
What you get
Real PDF form fields, so the form can be filled in other PDF apps and in a web browser’s own PDF viewer. Open it here again and the fields you made can still be moved, renamed and changed. Without an account, nothing is uploaded.
