Questions
Is it free to write Markdown online?
Yes. It’s free and needs no account. It runs in your web browser, with nothing to install.
Are my notes uploaded?
No, not without an account: a note stays in this tab until you close it, so download it to keep it. Signed in, every version you save is kept privately in your account.
Is there a size limit?
A note can be up to 1 MB of text, about a long book, whether it is opened from a file or kept in a history.
Can I write Markdown online on my phone?
Yes. It works in the web browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
Is there a free Markdown editor with version history?
Yes, this one, with a free account: keep a version whenever you like, compare any two and bring an old one back. The history is private to your account. Download with history saves the note and its versions as one .mdh file, up to 32 MB; a .md file or a PDF carries only the current text.
