How to edit a PDF on an iPhone, with no app

Open pdfeditor.page in Safari, edit your PDF in the tab and download it to the Files app. There’s no app to install, and without an account the PDF is never uploaded.

Two steps on an iPhone. Retype in Safari, tap Done: the lease zoomed in Safari, its Tenant line retyped to Maya Chen in an outlined box, above a bar with the Times font, Cover and retype, Cancel and Done. Saved to Files: the downloaded lease in the Files app, its Tenant line reading Maya Chen.
In Safari on an iPhone: retype the line, tap Done, and the PDF is saved to Files.

Edit a PDF in Safari in five steps

  1. Open your PDF. Tap Choose a PDF and pick it from iCloud Drive, Downloads or On My iPhone.
  2. Open the Edit tab. In the tabs along the bottom, tap Edit.
  3. Tap Edit text, then the line. It’s outlined in blue.
  4. Retype it and tap Done.
  5. Tap Download. Safari keeps it in the Files app.
