Does it keep the layout?

It keeps the text’s structure, not its look: headings, lists, bold and italic, web and email links, and tables, as Markdown tables found the way the experimental PDF to Excel finds them. Running heads and page numbers are left out, and pictures are not included. A scan has no words to save until OCR has read it.
