Questions
Is it free to turn Markdown into a PDF?
Yes. It’s free and needs no account. It runs in your web browser, with nothing to install.
Can I convert Markdown to PDF without uploading it?
Yes. Without an account, your text is read and made into a PDF in this browser tab, and never sent to our server.
Is there a file size limit?
Markdown can be up to 1 MB, including any embedded pictures. A PDF stops at 500 pages and says so on its last page. With a free account, each PDF kept in your library can be up to 100 MB.
Can I turn Markdown into a PDF on my phone?
Yes. It works in the web browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
What does the PDF look like?
Clean and plain: headings, bold and italic, lists and checklists, quotes, code in a shaded box, and tables whose header repeats on each page. Headings become bookmarks (up to 1,000), and pages are numbered. Web, email and in-document heading links stay clickable; a relative file link, such as docs/setup.md, becomes plain text. A PNG or JPEG embedded in the file as a base64 data: address shows, within limits; in a heading or a table cell it becomes a label. A remote or relative picture is never fetched, and SVG, GIF and WebP aren’t drawn. Math isn’t drawn yet.
